STORY SO FAR

The history of Open Door Church, Kettering
Where did we come from?

Open Door Church was launched in December 1993 as an Anglican Church plant in Barton Seagrave with an inital 13 committed Christian adults and their 16 children! From the start the church was eager to embrace the work of The Holy Spirit in the lives of members.

After about five years in the local primary school the church moved to The Masque (a modern Arts Centre at the Latimer school). Where, following a change of leadership at the 'parent' church in 1999 Open Door became independent and continued to meet.

During a difficult time as an independent charismatic church it was felt that it was important to be part of a larger apostolic organisation which would provide oversight. A two-year period of meetings between the leadership and Newfrontiers led to the decision to join the Newfrontier family of churches around 2002/03.
